Extra, Extra! Read all about it!

We've highlighted a couple newspaper resources over the past few months, but that really just scratches the surface of our newspaper collections. If you find yourself hitting a paywall of your favorite current news source or are wondering how lots of news outlets are handling a particular topic check out the following resources.

National Newspapers Premier provides full-text articles to many of the nation's leading news sources--such as the Boston Globe, the New York Times, and the Chicago Tribune.

Newspaper Source provides access to many local and international newspapers--Minneapolis Star Tribune and Al Jazeera, together at last!--and transcripts to a variety of television and radio news networks including CNN, FOX, NPR, and CBS. You can also set up email alerts for your favorite news sources or subscribe to an RSS feed. (You must have a free ESBCOhost account to use this feature. See the picture below for more information.)

Finally, maybe you're missing your favorite magazine. Popular Magazines may fill the void with access to The New Yorker, Popular Mechanics, Vogue, Newsweek and much more. One helpful feature of this database is that you can have it read the article to you or download the MP3.

We've just highlighted a few of our newspaper and current media sources. To find more check out our Primary Sources/Newspapers database list or search for your desired publication from the Journals tab on the library homepage. Any questions? Ask a librarian!
